Phoenix Beats Minneapolis, 5-3
|
Phoenix starter Arturo Noboa pitched effectively against the Minneapolis Vikings at Minneapolis Grounds. The left-hander led his team to a win, 5-3. Zach Baiza earned the save, his 46th. At 79-77, the Thunderbirds are currently second in the Western Conference Eobanus Burger Division.
Phoenix used the clutch hitting of Jose Lima to capture the win. The center fielder drilled a 2-run double in the top of the seventh inning to give the Thunderbirds the lead, 4-0. For the game, Lima had 1 single and 1 double in 4 at-bats.
"We did enough to win," said Noboa.
