Watkins Powers Toros to 8-6 Win
The Tucson Toros beat the Phoenix Thunderbirds, 8-6, with major props going to third baseman Heater Watkins. On the day, Watkins was 2 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 6 for the Toros. Don Young picked up the save for Tucson, his 9th of the year. The Toros saw their record improve to 69-87.

With Tucson leading 3-1 in the bottom of the fourth, Watkins hit a fastball from Arturo Noboa for a grand slam home run. It was his 14th home run of the season and put the Toros ahead, 7-1.

"The name of the game is scoring runs," Watkins said. "We did a good job of that today."
