Phantoms Curb Metropolitanos, 5-2
|
The Chicago Phantoms downed the Havana Metropolitanos, 5-2, the largest share of the credit belonging to right fielder Dave Yerges. On the day, Yerges went 2-4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 for the Phantoms. The winning pitcher was two-time All-Star Juzo Matsumoto. He tossed 82 pitches over 5.1 innings, allowing 1 run on 4 hits.
