Friars Win, 3-1, in 10
|
The San Francisco Friars defeated the Houston Aquas, 3-1, in 10 innings. Rod Inzunza played a big role. Inzunza was 1-2 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Friars in the win. San Francisco is now 79-76, Houston 94-61.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the tenth. With one out, Inzunza hit a cutter from Yasuhiro Katayama for a 2-run home run. The Friars, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"Clutch hitting plus clutch pitching usually equals a win," said Inzunza.
