Titans Deal Gaedels 1-0 Defeat
|
The New York Titans got a magnificent performance from pitcher Tadeu Carneira, who muffled the St. Louis offense en route to a tight, 1-0 Titans win at Veeck Park. Carneira picked up the win for New York, going 5.2 innings. He gave up no runs on 2 hits. He now sports a record of 18-1. Ricardo Alas was credited with the save for New York, his 30th of the season.
Mike Tamayo had a direct impact on the outcome. Tamayo contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth inning to put New York up, 1-0.
"This was a game where every at-bat, every pitch counted," said Tamayo.
The Eastern Conference Rex Rawnsley Division-leading Titans are 106-48.
