Gaedels Top Cyclones, 5-3
|
The St. Louis Gaedels licked the Miami Cyclones, 5-3. Luis Nungaray deserved a big chunk of the credit. The right fielder was 1-3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for the Gaedels. After today's action, St. Louis sits at 82-72; Miami slips to 62-92.
Manny Sagastisado was 1-4 for St. Louis. The four-time All-Star had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With no one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Victor Alonzo. It was his 90th RBI of the season.
"I think we all put in a good day's work," said Sagastisado.
