Cincinnati got a decent performance from pitcher Julio Carpinteyro, but it wasn't enough to beat the New York Titans. New York won the Cincinnati Grounds contest, 4-3. Carpinteyro threw 7.2 innings allowing 4 runs for the losing team. David Panther, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2080 draft, was the winner in relief. His record is now 3-2. The losing pitcher was Julio Carpinteyro. Zounes Habyarimana was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 2 of 4 save opportunities.
New York used the timely hitting of Carlos Guadamuz to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Titans on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We found a way to get it done," Guadamuz said.
New York, at 76-77, sits in 4th place in the Eastern Conference Zounes Kamuzu Division.
