Phantoms Get Hard-Earned Win
|
The Havana Metropolitanos got a superb performance from pitcher Bobby Jaramillo, but the Chicago Phantoms still won the game, 4-3. Jaramillo threw 6.0 innings of shutout ball. Picking up the save was 26-year old left-handed pitcher Danny Galaviz. Chicago has a record of 81-73, placing them second in the Western Conference Felipe Solorzo Division.
The game was at a stalemate until first baseman Rickey Pfau came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Havana pitcher Fish Rablood, he hit a full count cutter for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Chicago on top, 4-3.
"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said Havana manager Kevin Mayerhofer.
