The Chicago Phantoms and San Diego Destroyers played a tight game with the hosts claiming a hard-fought win.

Both offenses were relatively subdued at Foster Field. Fortunately for the Chicago Phantoms, though, Nala Forcelledo was able to deliver in the clutch. He was 2 for 4 with a home run. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2, to lead his team past the San Diego Destroyers, 3-2. Ingo Jentzsch, the winner, is now 6-1. He struck out 4 and walked 1 over 5 innings, while allowing 2 runs on 8 hits. Brenden Jayson got the save, the 5th for him this season.

Forcelledo contributed in the bottom of the third. With a runner on 2nd, he hit a run-scoring single. It was one at-bat among others that helped Chicago get the win.

"Tough loss," said San Diego manager Steve Alstadt. "But we'll rebound from it."

Chicago is now 38-13, San Diego 32-18.
