Vikings Drop 6-3 Decision
The San Diego Destroyers topped the Minneapolis Vikings, 6-3, in Western Conference action at Seaward Stadium. The standout performance belonged to San Diego pitcher and Fife, Washington, native Gary Banks. Banks got the win, improving to 4-1. He gave up 2 hits and walked 3 over 5.1 innings. He allowed 1 run. Julio Olivo closed it out for his 9th save.

Don Zufelt had a big 2-run home run for the Destroyers in the bottom of the fifth inning. With San Diego leading 2-1 and a runner on 2nd, he sized up a fastball from 22-year old right-handed pitcher Devon Jenkins and punished it. The result was his 2nd home run of the season, which put the Destroyers on top, 4-1.

"This team is real focused right now," said San Diego manager Steve Alstadt.
