Destroyers Stick Thunderbirds with 3-0 Loss
The San Diego Destroyers took on the Phoenix Thunderbirds at Seaward Stadium.

San Diego took on Phoenix in a contest which featured a pitchers' duel. Masaru Uno, in particular, was fantastic. The San Diego right-hander helped his team snag the win, 3-0. Uno got the win, improving to 12-6. He gave up 3 hits and walked 3 over 7.1 innings. He allowed no runs. The save went to Julio Olivo, his 25th this season.

The Destroyers got a big at-bat from center fielder Alex Botello. For the game, Botello went 2 for 3 with a double and was hit by a pitch. In the bottom of the sixth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 1st double of the season gave San Diego a 1-0 lead.

"I felt great. Had good rhythm with my mechanics," said Uno.

The 'W' lifts San Diego's record to 75-77.
