Twins Rally to Eke Out Win
|
The Cincinnati Twins beat the Boston Greens, 9-8, in 11 innings. Cincinnati center fielder Tim Champion, in particular, had a fine performance. He was 4-6 with 4 singles, while scoring 2. Bryce Peckham, now 5-1, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.1 innings. Cincinnati is now 72-80, Boston 59-93.
The game was all tied up in the top of the 11th, until Champion delivered big-time for Cincinnati, stroking a dramatic run-scoring single off Chris Bridges. The game-changing hit put the Twins on top, 9-8.
"This is a resilient bunch," said Cincinnati manager Ryan Stoops.
