Glaciers Victorious at Alaska, 10-6
|
Though he had a terrific game, Ryan McCray could not prevent his team, the Alaska Kodiaks, from absorbing a loss. Denver won the game, 10-6. McCray went 2-4 with a home run, a triple, and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 3. Tetsukazu Kaneda got the win, improving to 19-4. He worked 6 innings, giving up 4 runs on 4 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 6. The first-place Glaciers bumped their record to 95-58.
Denver used a clutch at-bat from Kamaluhaiakapu Kahakuokahale to capture the win. The designated hitter hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Glaciers ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"We took advantage of our opportunities," Kahakuokahale told the Denver Chronicle. "It's as simple as that."
