The Havana Metropolitanos trumped the Toronto Juggernauts, 10-3, at Estadio Latinoamericano. Havana left fielder Edward Black was terrific. He was 2 for 4 with a home run. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. J.D. Haynes was the winner in relief. His record is now 6-1. The losing pitcher was Santiago Ontiveros. At 83-69, the Metropolitanos claim second place in the Eastern Conference Benito Cossutta Division.
Andy Gonzales, who is tied for 2nd in the EC with a .969 OPS, chipped in a 3-run home run for Havana in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the catcher had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 3 runs batted in.
Gonzales called winning a team effort. "It's not the same guy every time," he said. "It's the sum of the parts."
