Perfect Powers Wolves Offense
With left fielder Larry Perfect leading the charge, the Vancouver Wolves defeated the Portland Dragons, 8-7, at Fox-Chong Park. Perfect, who finished 3rd in the EC in batting average with .308 in 2074, was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 5. Ben Flint, who finished 3rd in the WC in innings pitched with 215.0 in 2072, earned the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2.1 innings. He upped his record to 4-0. With this game in the books, Vancouver is 21-29, Portland 27-24.

The game was all tied up in the bottom of the eighth, until Perfect delivered big-time for Vancouver, stroking a dramatic run-scoring single off Justin Kurth. The game-changing hit put the Wolves on top, 8-7.

"Every time I go up there, I try and hit a ball hard," said Perfect.
