Washington Loses, 7-3, to Baltimore in 10
|
The Baltimore Kings faced a tough opponent in Washington pitcher Bobby Jaramillo, but found a way to pull out the victory at The ESPN Zone by a final score of 7-3 in 10 innings. Jaramillo went 6.1 innings and allowed no runs. Baltimore reliever Matt Steffes picked up the win, upping his record to 2-2. Jose Nereida was saddled with the loss. Baltimore is now 71-82. Washington is 60-93.
Reinier Martinez came through with a big-time hit for Baltimore. The third baseman smacked a grand slam home run in the top of the tenth inning to give his team the lead, 7-3. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"Our team showed some spunk," said Martinez.
