Chicago Falls Again, 3-2
|
Tetsukazu Kaneda pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Chicago Phantoms, despite Kaneda's fine outing, dropped a 3-2 decision to the Vancouver Wolves at Fox-Chong Park. Cody Goings got the save, the 11th for him this season. The last-place Wolves have won 4 in a row.
Catcher Alvaro Salazar made an impact for Vancouver, when he swatted a 2-run home run off Tetsukazu Kaneda in the bottom of the fifth. For the contest, Salazar went 1 for 2 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"We've hit a rough patch right now," said Chicago skipper Sam J.
