Kings Use Late Score to Top Senators, 2-1
|
The Baltimore Kings picked up a win at The ESPN Zone, knocking off the Washington Senators, 2-1. Starting pitcher Adam Simms was a big reason why. Tomoyoshi Yamamoto earned the save, his 1st. With this game in the books, Baltimore is 69-83, Washington 64-88.
Baltimore took a 1-0 lead on Roberto Rendon's 11th home run of the season. The solo home run, which Rendon hit in the top of the eighth, left Washington pitcher Val Castro visibly frustrated.
"Tough loss," said Washington manager Josh Cooan. "The kind that burns a little inside."
