The Chicago Phantoms went down to defeat to Yoshino Yada and his San Diego teammates. The final score was 5-0, Destroyers, in 10 innings. The win was credited to Earl Tessier in relief. His record improves to 3-0. Bill Lawson took the loss. San Diego goes to 29-22, Chicago to 25-25.

Norlis Gonzalez went 1 for 4 with a walk for San Diego. The 34-year old right fielder had a key at-bat in the top of the tenth. With no one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring walk off Greg Roof. It was his 5th walk of the season.

"Yoshino did a good job of managing their lineup," said San Diego manager Steve Alstadt.
