In a low-scoring tilt between the Tucson Toros and the San Francisco Friars, Elza Ficquelmont was the difference-maker. The Tucson right-hander spearheaded the 3-0 win. Jake Dill earned the win after being called from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.2 innings. He upped his record to 1-1. Getting the save was Jose Zavala, his 12th.
Roberto Torres drove in one run for Tucson. The 26-year old third baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Cruz Ponce. It was his 16th RBI of the season.
"We'll kick back tonight and enjoy this win," said Ficquelmont.
Tucson, at 28-22, sits in second place in the Western Conference Manny Muro Division.
