The San Diego Destroyers used an offensive barrage to beat the Minneapolis Vikings, 14-0, at Seaward Stadium. Jose Gonzales, who is tied for 5th in the WC in triples with 3, led the way, going 4-for-5 for San Diego. Ben Flint, the winner, improved to 3-4. He held Minneapolis to no runs on 5 hits over 6 innings, while racking up 7 strikeouts. The Destroyers now own a record of 26-24.

With San Diego leading 11-0 in the bottom of the seventh, Gonzales batted against Minneapolis pitcher Orlando Ortozco. Gonzales hit a splitter to right for a 3-run home run. His 5th home run of the season put the Destroyers on top, 14-0.

Minneapolis manager Ace Cooan called the blowout loss "a real bummer."
