The Seattle Arrows knocked off the Los Angeles Stars, 4-1, at Power Ballpark. Tom Schwartzmiller was a big reason Seattle won. The catcher was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Victor Cacho, the winner, improved to 3-0. He held the Stars to 1 run on 6 hits over 6.1 innings, while striking out 5 and walking 4. Aaron Narduzzi recorded the save, his 9th.
Schwartzmiller contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Seattle in the bottom of the fourth. With his team trailing 1-0, Schwartzmiller took a screwball from Jose Nunez and stroked the home run to right. His 8th home run of the season allowed the Arrows to leap in front, 2-1.
"Watch and learn," said Schwartzmiller. "This is what good pitching looks like."
With the win, the Arrows improved to 21-28.
