Philadelphia Loses, 5-4, Despite Rengifo Performance
|
The Boston Greens and Philadelphia Spectres obliged fans hoping for an exciting game.
Philadelphia center fielder Geri Rengifo had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 5-4, to Boston at Arrington Park. Rengifo hit 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Rafael Mendiola, 4-0, earned the win in relief. He allowed 1 run on 1 hit in 1.1 innings. The save went to Rafael Morales, number 2 for him.
Boston took a 5-3 lead on Junpei Fujiwara's 11th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Fujiwara hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Philadelphia pitcher Cinio Ortiz shaking his head.
"Feels good to get the job done," Fujiwara said after the game.
The win puts the Greens at 28-20, while the Spectres drop to 23-26.
