5-1 Loss to Twins Extends Phoenix Losing Streak
|
Cincinnati took on Phoenix in front of a lively crowd.
Cincinnati overcame a superior effort from Arturo Noboa to beat Phoenix, 5-1. The Phoenix pitcher threw 6.2 innings of 3-hit ball. Jose Caro, credited with the win in relief, is now 1-0. He allowed no runs on 4 hits in 1.1 innings.
Cincinnati used the timely hitting of Tim Champion to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Twins on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
Afterward, Phoenix manager Joe Busch said: "Every team has a bad week."
The losses continue to mount for Phoenix, which has now dropped 7 in a row.
