The Phoenix Thunderbirds managed to get by the Chicago Phantoms, 2-1, at Legednary Park. Phoenix pitcher Juan Casanas set himself apart with his performance. Jason Reilly earned the save for Phoenix, his 11th. Even with the win, the Thunderbirds have a dismal 17-32 record.

Jimmy Arman had a big run-scoring double for the Thunderbirds in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Phoenix leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a fastball from Richard Samayoa and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 1st double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Thunderbirds ahead, 2-0.

"We take it day by day here," said Arman, "and today was a good one for us."
