Phantoms Defeat Senators in 10
|
Behind a fine performance from Omar Santana, the Chicago Phantoms knocked off the Washington Senators in 10 innings, 6-5. Santana went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Phantoms. Chicago reliever Andy Barrett was the winner. His record is now 1-2. The losing pitcher was Joel Altamira. Chicago is now 22-25, while Washington is 22-27.
The Phantoms got a clutch hit from right fielder Jesus Pena. In the bottom of the tenth, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Phantoms.
"We believe in ourselves and we're willing to work hard. It's a good combination," Pena told the Chicago Chronicle.
