Destroyers Hand Phantoms 6-5 Loss
|
Fans watched the San Diego Destroyers and the Chicago Phantoms fight to the finish.
Chicago catcher Tom Schwartzmiller had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Schwartzmiller was 3-4 with a double and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs, even as San Diego beat the Phantoms, 6-5. The Destroyers improved their record to 28-21 with the win over Chicago.
Jason Brown helped his team take an early lead with a run-scoring single. It came in the first inning, making the score 2-0, Destroyers.
"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Brown told the San Diego News.
