Late Offense Lifts Las Vegas to 4-1 Victory
|
Las Vegas pitcher Arturo Covarrubias had a large part in his team subduing the Alaska Kodiaks, 4-1. The opposition could never mount much of a rally against the right-hander. Pierre Prent got the save, the 3rd for him this season. The third-place Aces are 22-26.
A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the bottom of the eighth, with the game tied, Adir Barrabi was at the plate when Las Vegas scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Aces to go in front, 2-1.
"We put together a nice win," Barrabi said.
