Stars Rally to Nose Past Cincinnati

The Los Angeles Stars needed 10 innings to beat the Cincinnati Twins, 5-4, at Stars Ballpark. Whip Lund, for one, had a fine performance. He was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Los Angeles reliever Dustin Kerley snagged the win, upping his record to 2-2. Phil Cromsie shouldered the loss. The third-place Stars now have a record of 23-25.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the tenth. With one out, Lund hit a fastball from Phil Cromsie for a solo home run. The Stars, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"The ending was a real humdinger," Lund told reporters after the game.
