Guilzar Mashes 2 Homers in 4-2 Portland Win
|
The Portland Dragons stymied the Vancouver Wolves, 4-2, at Fox-Chong Park. Alex Guilzar had a good day at the plate. He hit 2 home runs for Portland. Wil Campos, the winning pitcher, improved to 2-5. He pitched 7.1 innings, giving up 3 hits and 1 run, while striking out 7 and walking 1. Earning his 1st save of the year was Tyler Walsh.
Guilzar had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a 1-2 curveball from Jesus Ortiz, he banged a solo home run to left, giving the Dragons a 2-1 lead. It was the 16th home run of the year for Guilzar.
"We did a lot of things right," said Guilzar.
The win makes Portland 23-25.
