The San Francisco Friars got a good effort from starter Nate Daniels in defeating the San Diego Destroyers at Seaward Stadium. The final score was 2-1. San Francisco reliever Chris Isaacks picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Osvaldo Rubbi took the loss. Jeff Boffa earned the save for San Francisco, his 14th of the year.
Mario Murillo, the 24-year old left fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. Murillo contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the eighth inning to put San Francisco up, 2-1.
"There was no wiggle room in this one," said Murillo.
San Francisco leads the Western Conference Rafael Mena Division by 4½ games.
