Super Swinger -- Burke Slams 5 Hits
|
There aren't many who could be pro ballplayers and there are even fewer who could put up 5 hits in a day.
Glen Burke is one of those rare few, as he went 5-for-5 against the Saint Paul Incas at Bucks Ballpark. The monster effort from the 21-year-old second baseman helped the Fairbanks Goldpanners get the win, 7-2.
"We made some bad pitches and he took advantage of it," said Incas manager . "That's the game, though. Don't make mistakes and you'll win ballgames. Make mistakes and, well, you saw what happened today."
Glen Burke singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a three-run triple in the 5th, singled in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Cory Rosas in the 8th.
So far this season, Burke has gotten 49 hits in 175 at-bats for a .280 batting average with 7 home runs. His stats include 20 RBIs and 21 runs scored. He has played in 45 games.
