Winterfeld Pops Two Homers in 4-1 Win for Cincinnati
Riding the 2-hit performance of the 28-year old right fielder Bobby Winterfeld, the Cincinnati Twins stopped the Kansas City Athletics, 4-1. Picking up the win was Brian Burda. He went 6.2 innings, allowing 1 run on 7 hits. The right--hander struck out 5 and walked 1. Kimiya Kinoshita picked up his 3rd save of the season.

With Cincinnati trailing 1-0 in the bottom of the fourth, Winterfeld hit a changeup from Kelvin Smit for a 2-run home run. It was his 9th home run of the season and put the Twins ahead, 2-1.

Winterfeld called the win a testament to his team's "tenacity."

The second-place Twins are 31-17.
