7-2 Loss Deepens San Antonio Funk
|
Denver pitcher Taxi Sabala did his part in helping his team defeat the San Antonio Angels, 7-2. The opposition could never get too much going against the right-hander. Sabala, the winner, moves to 6-2. He threw 6.2 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 10 and giving up 3 walks. San Antonio is still trying to get off the schneid, having lost 6 in a row.
Pete Delzeit had a big 3-run home run for the Glaciers in the bottom of the second inning. With Denver leading 2-1 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he sized up a fastball from 26-year old right-handed pitcher Bill Spotton and punished it. The result was his 3rd home run of the season, which put the Glaciers on top, 5-1.
"We came out on top and that's all I can ask for," said Sabala.
