The Minneapolis Vikings got a superb performance from pitcher Jose Covarrubias. Still, it wasn't enough to beat St. Louis. The Gaedels won the game, 6-4. Covarrubias threw 5.0 innings allowing 2 runs. The losing streak for Minneapolis has now reached 5 games.

The Gaedels beat the Vikings in part due to timely hitting. Case in point: the two-out triple Zounes Kamuzu produced in the bottom of the seventh. Batting against Medina, Kamuzu gave his team a 5-4 lead when he hit a bases-clearing triple.

"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Kamuzu told the St. Louis News.
