Ervilhosa Lifts Friars to 14-7 Triumph
|
Veeck Park was the site for Western Conference action featuring the St. Louis Gaedels and San Francisco Friars.
Migdônio Ervilhosa led San Francisco to a win over St. Louis. The final score was 14-7. Ervilhosa collected 2 runs batted in, while going 4 for 5 at the plate. The first baseman also scored 3 times. Earning his 3rd save of the year was Mike Pechtel.
San Francisco took the lead, 8-7, on Leonilde Tigre's 13th home run of the season. The 3-run home run came off St. Louis pitcher Wade West in the top of the seventh.
"That's what this team is about," said Ervilhosa, "picking each other up."
The Friars have an impressive 28-17 record.
