Ralph Lays Hammer Down in 2-0 Win
|
In a tightly-contested game between the Washington Senators and the Minneapolis Vikings, pitcher Les Ralph was outstanding. The Washington right-hander, who finished 3rd in the WC in wins with 17 in 2070, propelled his team's 2-0 win. Washington has won 4 straight games.
Ralph, the winning pitcher, raised his record to 4-4. In 8 innings of work, Ralph gave up no runs on 2 hits, while racking up 11 Ks. He kept the Vikings punchless, offensively.
"Les was hitting his spots," said Washington manager Josh Cooan. "It's hard to pitch better than that."
