The Alaska Kodiaks outlasted Jin-young Choe and the Chicago Phantoms, 8-7. Choe was impressive in the loss. The Chicago right fielder went 4 for 5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Alaska is now 22-24, while Chicago is 23-22.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Alaska catcher David Cortez, facing Hector Moreno, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Kodiaks the 8-7 win.

"The crowd was juiced," said Cortez.
