Juggernauts Rebuff Avispas, 3-2
|
Toronto Juggernauts starter Fisko Loera turned in a sparkling performance against the Santiago Avispas, leading his team to a 3-2 win. Loera picked up the win for Toronto, going 6.2 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 7 hits. He now sports a record of 5-0. Toronto currently is in third place in the Eastern Conference Solano Antas Division at 27-19.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Juggernauts had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the second, when center fielder Tony Fonseca hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Volk Miller and made the score 3-0, Juggernauts. Fonseca went 2-3 with 2 singles and a walk.
"We played hard and won," said Loera. "Sometimes, baseball really is that easy.'
