Twins Fall, 14-8, to Cobo, Toros
|
In a high-scoring contest between Tucson and Cincinnati, right fielder Zahi Cobo was a difference-maker. Cobo, who finished 2nd in the EC in runs with 121 last year, distinguished himself in the 14-8 Tucson win. He was 4-5 with a home run, a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 5. Tucson reliever Tom Parmenter picked up the win, raising his record to 2-5. Danny Bickel was tagged with the loss. Tucson, now 19-26, holds down last place in the Western Conference Mike Stump Division.
Cobo had a key at-bat in the top of the ninth to put Tucson in front, 10-8. With the bases loaded, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run off Cincinnati pitcher Samuel Fitzgerald.
"Glad to get this win," said Cobo. "But we need to keep playing at a high level."
