Victory Pushes Glaciers Record to 24-21
|
Denver Glaciers starter Dryden Ice turned in an exceptional performance against the San Antonio Angels at Mountain Dew Park, resulting in a Denver win, 6-1. Denver is 24-21 and San Antonio, with the loss, 13-33.
Jason Gonzalez had a big 2-run double for the Glaciers in the bottom of the third inning. With Denver leading 2-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from 31-year old left-handed pitcher Graham MacInstalker and swatted a double to center. It was his 6th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Glaciers ahead, 4-0.
"The team always comes first," Gonzalez told a reporter while responding to autograph requests. "Our fans like to come out to see a win, so I'm happy to do what I can to give them that."
