Angels Take Tight Tangle
|
In a low-scoring contest between the San Antonio Angels and the Portland Dragons, Danny Mathews, who finished 5th in the WC in wins with 15 last year, proved to be the difference. The San Antonio right-hander earned props for his performance in the 3-2 Angels win. San Antonio occupies third place in the Western Conference Nala Forcelledo Division at 23-21.
San Antonio used a timely hit from Sergio Folha to get the win. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Angels ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it made an impact.
"It feels good, just a great win all around," Folha said after the game.
