Aces Rally to Eke Out Win
|
The Las Vegas Aces did just enough to secure a victory over the Phoenix Thunderbirds, 6-5, at Western Coliseum. Nobody did more than pitcher Carl Rodda. The Thunderbirds, now 16-28, have lost 4 in a row.
The Aces relied on second baseman Joe Salonen for the game-winning hit. And, in the bottom of the 11th, he delivered, hitting a run-scoring single to seal the deal.
In comments to the Las Vegas Herald, Salonen admitted he's been told to improve his work habits. "But," he said, "I know when to take it to another gear."
