Gaedels Deal Minneapolis 2-1 Defeat
Aaron Kopta was locked and loaded, helping the St. Louis Gaedels beat the Minneapolis Vikings, 2-1. Albert van Dongen earned the save, his 2nd, for the Gaedels. The second-place Gaedels are now 19-24, the Vikings 23-20.

The Gaedels got a big at-bat from designated hitter Zounes Kamuzu. For the game, Kamuzu was 1-4 with a home run. In the bottom of the sixth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 5th home run of the season gave St. Louis a 2-1 lead.

"Anyone who says he's not out there thinking about personal accomplishments is not telling the truth," Kopta said later.
