Is it better to be lucky or good?

After leading the Moreno Valley Blaze to victory, 13-0, and tossing a no-hitter over the Lincoln Traders, Miguel Cordova didn't have the answer.

"I don't know," Cordova said. "To do what I did today, I'm pretty sure it takes both."

On his big day at Traders Ballpark, Cordova fanned 11 and had 4 walks. And it seemed that when the Traders managed to hit the ball hard, it went right at a defender.

"That's how you get a no-hitter," Cordova said with a smile. "A lot of skill mixed with a little luck."

Taking a look at his season, Cordova has made no relief appearances, recorded no saves and compiled a 8-4 won-lost mark and a 2.99 ERA. In pitching 102.1 innings, he has totaled 116 strikeouts and 27 walks.
