Philadelphia Ruins Terrific Game by Pike
|
The Brooklyn Browns besoiled an otherwise fine performance by Philadelphia first baseman Alderaan Pike by beating the Spectres, 8-5, at Sony Field at Philadelphia. Pike was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 doubles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. Greg Byrne picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-1. Uno Urquidez, the 19th overall pick in the 2074 draft, was tagged with the loss. The Browns now own a record of 23-18.
Billy Buelna drove in one run for Brooklyn. The former first round draft pick had a key at-bat in the top of the seventh. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 5-5 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Mike Colunga. It was his 18th RBI of the season.
"I still think this team has room for improvement," Buelna told the Brooklyn Bulletin.
