Great Effort by Lobster DH Martinez Not Enough in 14-12 Loss
The Philadelphia Spectres weathered a fine game by Portland (E) designated hitter Elisa Martinez to upend the Lobster, 14-12, at Ballpark of Portland. Martinez went 4-6 with a home run and 2 doubles. He scored 3 runs and drove in 3. Reliever Rigoberto Pita picked up the win. His record improves to 1-0. Mike Leiva took the loss. The loss has the Lobster at 1-4.

Philadelphia used a well-timed hit by Nate Eastick to capture the win. The designated hitter socked a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Spectres ahead, 10-8. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it was important.

"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Eastick said after the game.
