Dragons Tear Continues with 6-3 Triumph
|
Portland Dragons starter Taxi Sabala pitched a strong game against the Chicago Phantoms at Portland Park, leading the Dragons to victory, 6-3. Oscar Mercado picked up the save, his 4th. Now 25-17, the Dragons have won 10 games in a row.
Felix Sanchez had a big bases-clearing double for the Dragons in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Portland leading 3-2 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from Jarrod Beckman, who is tied for 7th in the WC with a 2.72 ERA, and swatted a double to left. It was his 12th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Dragons ahead, 6-2.
"It's fun to come to the yard every day when you're winning," said Portland manager Greg Carpenter.
