The Portland Dragons scooped up a win at Portland Park, dumping the Santiago Avispas, 2-0. Jonas Juarbe was essential to his team's success. Nate Daniels got credit for the save for Portland. It was his 5th of the year. Portland's record now stands at 19-22, placing them last in the Western Conference Eric Wise Division.

Evan Salimbene had a big run-scoring double for the Dragons in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Portland leading 1-0 and a runner on 2nd, he got a fastball from Ricky Czaikowski, who is tied for 7th in the EC in innings pitched with 54.1, and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 8th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Dragons ahead, 2-0.

"Good pitching, clutch hitting," said Portland skipper Greg Carpenter. "I can't complain."
