The Tucson Toros faced a tough opponent in San Antonio pitcher Graham MacInstalker, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Tesoro Stadium by a final score of 4-3. MacInstalker went 5 innings and allowed 2 runs. The winner was Tucson reliever Yuuya Usui, now 2-1. The loser was Raidel Duque. The 4th-place Toros go to 18-23.

Tucson needed the clutch hitting of Peter Branom to seal the deal. The third baseman swatted a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Toros on top, 4-3. For the game, Branom had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"I still have a lot of confidence in this team," Tucson manager Rick Barnes said afterward.
