Almazan Helps San Antonio Cruise to 11-3 Win
San Antonio and Portland got after it at Portland Park.

Leon Almazan impressed in the 11-3 San Antonio win over Portland. Almazan, who led the EC in OPS with 1.091 in 2070, was 3 for 5 with a home run and a double. He drove in 5 runs and scored once. John Rochford, who led the WC in wins with 18 in 2073, was the winning pitcher. Over 7 innings, he allowed 2 runs on 9 hits, with 3 walks and 5 strikeouts.

With San Antonio leading 2-0 in the top of the first, Almazan hit a fastball from Aaron Hendsbee for a 2-run double. It was his 7th double of the season and put the Angels ahead, 4-0.

"We hit the ball on the barrel," said San Antonio manager Brandon Coroian.

The setback makes Portland 16-25.
