The Cincinnati Twins withstood a fine game by Toronto first baseman Bu-wei Kuang at Cincinnati Grounds, to upend the Juggernauts, 9-7. Kuang was 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Phil Cromsie was called on to finish, recording his 6th save. The second-place Twins have won 4 consecutive games.

The game was at a stalemate until right fielder James Gilmore came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Toronto pitcher De-shi Wen, he hit a full count fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Cincinnati on top, 8-7.

"I like the roll we're on," said Cincinnati manager Ryan Stoops.
