Denver wasted a solid 6-inning effort from starting pitcher Edwin Munoz, losing to San Diego, 1-0, at Mountain Dew Park. San Diego reliever Yaciel Cusido snagged the win, upping his record to 7-5. Shane Shackelford shouldered the loss. San Diego has a record of 65-86, placing them last in the Western Conference John Sexton Division.

San Diego used the timely hitting of Tom Sarmiento to seize the win. The catcher stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Destroyers on top, 1-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"I was a little disappointed," said Denver manager Todd Bleess. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
