Loss to Stars Extends Tucson Losing Streak
|
The Los Angeles Stars picked up a win at Aetna Stadium, dropping the Tucson Toros, 4-2. Rin Sakai, who finished 2nd in the WC in wins with 15 in 2075, was the difference-maker. Jerry Cowley got credit for the save for Los Angeles. It was his 1st of the year. The 66-86 Toros have lost 10 consecutive games.
Los Angeles took a 4-0 lead on Casey Marko's 14th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Marko hit in the top of the seventh, left Tucson pitcher Don Young visibly frustrated.
"We've got a great group of guys," Marko said, "and we're having fun right now."
