The Los Angeles Stars eked out a 2-1 win versus the Minneapolis Vikings at Stars Ballpark. Nobody did more than pitcher Kingsley Bozek. He was terrific. Reliever Chris Wood picked up the win. His record improves to 1-1. Lesley Deakin, who is tied for 4th in the WC in holds with 17, took the loss. Los Angeles is now 66-86.

Han-lee Choi went 1-1 with a walk and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 2 runs for Los Angeles. The 27-year old second baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring hit-by-pitch off Lesley Deakin. It was his 31st RBI of the season.

"Runs were at a premium," said Los Angeles manager Pat Kaers.
