The Santiago Avispas outlasted the Brooklyn Browns, 8-4, in 10 innings. Melvin Meraz led the way, going 2-for-5 for Santiago. With the win, the Avispas improved to 72-80.
The game was all tied up in the top of the tenth, until Meraz delivered big-time for Santiago, stroking a dramatic run-scoring single off Alexis Burgos. The game-changing hit put the Avispas on top, 5-4.
